Consolidation

Consolidation

Soil consolidation tests determine how much soil compresses when soaked with water and subjected to pressure. By successfully completing these tests, you can figure out both how quickly and to what extent the soil settles. These evaluations are particularly important for the design and construction of foundations. At Forney, we know how important soil consolidation tests are for your business. That’s why we offer every tool and accessory you’ll ever need to conduct accurate consolidation tests for any soil sample.

It all starts with our selection of consolidation load frames. We sell three of these products for soil samples of various sizes, and all of them allow you to easily convert from TSF to PSI measurements. These load frames include an over-the-side dead weight mechanism, a set of weights, a pneumatic piston, a low-bleed Fairchild regulator, and a digital readout. They can measure loads of up to 3,200 PSI to TSF values of 64.

We also offer tabletop dead-weight consolidation load frames for soil testing, providing a more affordable means of conducting consolidation tests. These products are made from stainless steel and corrosion-resistant aluminum, and they allow for instantaneous loading with no impact, producing accurate test results every time.

Of course, Forney also sells a broad selection of accessories, including consolidometer cutting rings and fixed rings in varying sizes ranging from two to four inches, weight sets, calibration disks, digital dial indicators, and much more.
