Test method utilizes a standard 4.0 in (101.6 mm) compaction mold (1/30 cu ft ) After compaction mold is placed on a double ring permeameter base. A stainless steel ring at the bottom of the base divides the sample into two equal portions. Next, a porous stone is placed on the sample top with top sealing plate assembly. Permeant flow is measured from center and perimeter of sample. This will better determine if flow rates increase through outer portion of the sample due to side wall leakage.
Permeameter comes with three (3) porous stones (one is donut shaped for outer perimeter sample containment). Three valves control water flow in and out of the sample. Sample flow through is monitored using two pipettes connected to lower control valves. Available with or without mold.
