Non Destructive Testing

Non Destructive Testing

With many forms of concrete testing, you run the risk of damaging the concrete when you take and test samples from it. After all, traditional methods of concrete strength testing require extreme stress that can ruin the sample. Thankfully, there are now several forms of non-destructive concrete testing that leave your material intact and unharmed. At Forney, we offer top-quality Windsor probe tests, impact echo tests, and more, allowing you to test specific physical attributes of concrete without destroying it.

The Windsor probe test is probably the most common non-destructive concrete testing method available today, and it’s widely considered to be an efficient and effective method. In a Windsor probe test, you drive the probe into the concrete using a small powder charge. How deep your probe goes into the concrete indicates its compressive qualities.

Forney offers the Windsor HP Probe System, which is a fast and accurate tool for these tests. The unit has two different power settings for fresh and mature concrete mixes, and it can measure concrete with a compressive strength of up to 17,000 PSI. We also sell silver charges and hardened steel pins for Windsor probe tests.

If you’re looking for an impact echo test system, we offer those as well. These devices conduct non-destructive evaluations of concrete and masonry based on impact-generated sound waves. The impact echo test can measure concrete thickness, determine the location of cracks, locate voids beneath slabs and pavement, and much more.
